EFFECT OF GREEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP ON THE ECONOMIC POTENTIALS OF JALINGO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF TARABA STATE

Abstract

Green entrepreneurship has gained global attention as a strategy for balancing economic development with environmental sustainability. This study examines the effect of green entrepreneurship on the economic potentials of Jalingo Local Government Area (LGA) in Taraba State, Nigeria. The research focuses on three key dimensions of green entrepreneurship: initiatives, innovation, and inclination, exploring their effect on the economic potentials of Jalingo LGA. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 399 business owners to assess the effect of green entrepreneurship practices in driving economic transformation. Findings 
indicate that green entrepreneurial initiatives, innovation, and inclination significantly contribute to enhancing the economic potentials of Jalingo LGA by fostering job creation, business competitiveness, and environmental sustainability. Consequently, the study concludes that green entrepreneurship has statistically significant effect on economic potentials and as such the study 
recommends that the government of Taraba State, business owners and policy formulators in the society should formulate and provide policy interventions, financial incentives, and create awareness programs to encourage green entrepreneurship, thereby unlocking the region's economic potential while promoting environmental conservation.
